The Bashar Chiefdom Community Development Association (BACCODA) has expressed profound gratitude to Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State over the reinstatement of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris, as the Rekna of Bashar in Wase Local Council Area.
In a statement signed by its President, Dr Zakari Mohammed, and Secretary, Alhaji Yunusa Aliyu Garba, BACCODA described the governor’s action as a hallmark of true leadership, statesmanship, and a demonstration of genuine commitment to grassroots unity, cultural preservation, and peaceful coexistence across Plateau State.
The association said: “We, at BACCODA, on behalf of the entire people of Bashar Chiefdom, extend our heartfelt commendations to Governor Caleb Mutfwang for this noble and unifying gesture.
“The reinstatement of the Rekna of Bashar is a triumph for justice, fairness, and the collective desire of our people to sustain our cherished traditional institutions. This action clearly shows the governor’s willingness to listen to the yearnings of the people and prioritise communal harmony above political divides.”
The association further noted that the resolution of the chieftaincy matter in Bashar will further consolidate ongoing peace-building initiatives across the Wase Federal Constituency and the entire state. It commended the governor’s consultative approach to governance, which continues to foster trust and mutual respect among diverse ethnic and religious groups in Plateau State.
