Residents of Cross River State on Friday, commended the state Otu clears five months salary arrears of Obudu Ranch Resort workers, for what they described as remarkable developmental achievements.
They urged critics to allow the governor to remain focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
The commendation comes amid criticism from some political opponents over key projects executed by the administration, particularly the newly constructed Cross River State House of Assembly Complex.
In a statement by the Deputy Director of the Nigeria Bloggers Forum Association, Anthony Timothy, described the Assembly Complex as a world-class edifice that reflects Governor Otu’s bold vision for the future of the state.
According to him, the architectural design of the complex compares favourably with iconic government buildings in other parts of the world and represents the administration’s commitment to building durable public infrastructure.
He said: “Rather than attracting criticism, such projects should be celebrated as investments that will serve generations to come. Beyond the Assembly Complex, Governor Otu for implementing development initiatives across key sectors.
“Including infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, economic revitalisation and urban renewal. The administration’s policies are gradually restoring confidence in governance and positioning Cross River as an attractive destination for investment and tourism.”
He further noted that ongoing road rehabilitation projects and other public infrastructure investments are expected to stimulate economic growth, create employment opportunities and improve the standard of living of the people.
While acknowledging that constructive criticism remains an essential part of democratic governance, Timothy urged political opponents to avoid actions capable of distracting the governor from fulfilling his mandate.
He maintained that leadership should be judged by vision, commitment and tangible results, stressing that Governor Otu has demonstrated a determination to move Cross River State forward through sustainable development.
He expressed optimism that with sustained focus and public support, the governor would deliver more transformative projects that would further improve the lives of Cross River people and strengthen the state’s economy.
