Ibi Bridge approval will transform Taraba – Reps hopeful Agbu

Ibi Bridge, a major infrastructure project spanning the Benue River in Taraba State

A frontline House of Representatives candidate for the Ibi/Wukari Federal Constituency, T.L. Agbu, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the Ibi Bridge project, describing it as a landmark intervention that will transform Taraba state and boost economic development in the North-East.

Agbu, a former Personal Assistant (Administration and Political) to the governor of Taraba state who resigned to pursue his House of Representatives ambition on the DLA platform, made the remarks in a statement issued on Wednesday.

He said the approval of the bridge project reflects the Tinubu administration’s commitment to delivering critical infrastructure under the Renewed Hope Agenda and demonstrates what he described as visionary leadership focused on national development.

According to Agbu, the Ibi Bridge has been a long-standing aspiration of the people of Taraba state, noting that previous administrations had made promises that were never fulfilled.

“Leadership deserves recognition when it delivers results, regardless of political differences. On behalf of my supporters and the good people of Ibi and Wukari Federal Constituency, I sincerely appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for remembering Taraba State through the long-awaited Ibi Bridge project,” he said.

He added that the project would serve as more than just physical infrastructure, saying it would strengthen connectivity, facilitate commerce, stimulate economic activities and create new opportunities for growth across Taraba State and the wider North-East region.

Agbu also urged the federal government and the Federal Ministry of Works to ensure the timely commencement and successful completion of the project, assuring them of the support and cooperation of the people of the Ibi/Wukari Federal Constituency.

Describing the project as a reflection of people-centred governance, he expressed appreciation to the President for what he called a significant intervention in the state.

The House of Representatives hopeful reaffirmed his commitment to supporting policies and initiatives aimed at promoting the development of Taraba State, stressing that sustainable development should transcend political affiliations.
