Indigenous solar equipment manufacturer, Kartel Energy Limited, said it has trained over 1,000 solar installers, engineers, technicians and other industry professionals across six Nigerian cities in its efforts to address the technical skills deficit constraining the country’s renewable energy transition.

It disclosed that the second edition of its technical masterclass, held from May 14 to June 25, 2026, covered Benin City, Kaduna, Kano, Abuja, Ibadan and Asaba, bringing together installers, dealers, distributors, entrepreneurs and renewable energy enthusiasts for practical training on emerging technologies, installation standards and business development.

According to the company, a major focus of this year’s programme was high-voltage solar systems, with participants receiving hands-on training on their applications, installation requirements, commercial opportunities and safety considerations.

The sessions also equipped attendees with strategies for securing commercial and industrial projects, improving profitability and remaining competitive in Nigeria’s evolving renewable energy market, it explained.

Speaking on the initiative, the Chief Executive Officer of Kartel Energy Limited, Mr Ola Ogunsemowo, said the nationwide training was designed to bridge the knowledge gap in Nigeria’s rapidly expanding renewable energy industry. According to him, the increasing adoption of solar energy by households, businesses and institutions has heightened the need for practical training that equips installers, technicians and entrepreneurs with the necessary expertise to deliver safe and efficient installations.
