Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND)

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed over N15 million to the Zamfara State College of Nursing Sciences, Gusau, for 146 students, providing fresh financial relief for beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s Student Loan scheme.

The college formally acknowledged receipt of the money in a letter dated June 24, 2026, addressed to NELFUND and signed by its Provost, Zayyanu Misah.

According to the letter, the N15,028,000 was credited to the institution’s account on June 19, 2026, for 146 students.

“I am writing to formally acknowledge receipt of N15, 028,000.00 from NELFUND, credited to the Zamfara State College of Nursing Sciences account for 146 students on Friday, 19th June 2026,” the Provost stated.

The institution also confirmed that it had received the list of beneficiaries and verified the payment, while commencing the process of reconciling the fees and refunding students who had already paid eligible fees.

“We have received the beneficiary list and confirmed the payment. We are currently processing fee reconciliations and refunds for eligible students and will forward the necessary documentation to your office shortly,” the letter stated.

The disbursement brings the student loan intervention directly to students in a specialised nursing institution, highlighting the widening reach of NELFUND beyond conventional universities and other mainstream tertiary institutions.

The college said the payment would significantly assist its students, while assuring the agency that the necessary reconciliation and refund documentation would be forwarded to the Fund.
