Movie in the Park brought its National Tour to Enugu on August 15, welcoming over 2,000 guests to the International Conference Centre for an evening of film, entertainment, community, and celebration.
The Enugu edition marked a major stop on the tour and drew a diverse crowd of movie lovers, actors, influencers, creatives, government representatives, and members of the wider Enugu community.
Guests gathered for the signature Movie in the Park experience, beginning with the movie screening as attendees settled in for a relaxed evening of cinema and shared entertainment.
The event also attracted notable personalities from across entertainment, media, and government, reflecting the growing reach of Movie in the Park and its ability to bring different communities together through film and live experiences.
Following the screening, the evening transitioned into the Movie in the Park after-party, with music and entertainment keeping guests on their feet before the event eventually came to a close.
Speaking on the Enugu edition, the Founder and Curator of Movie in the Park, Ihechi Opara, described the turnout as an important moment for the National Tour.
“Bringing Movie in the Park to Enugu was something we had looked forward to for a long time, and seeing over 2,000 people come out to experience it with us was incredible.
“The goal of this tour has always been to take the experience beyond the cities we are already known for and build a community around film, entertainment and shared experiences across Nigeria.”
He added that “Enugu showed us exactly why we decided to take Movie in the Park on the road, and we’re excited to take that energy with us to our next stop in Akwa Ibom on September 19.”
The Enugu stop further demonstrated the growing appetite for experience-driven entertainment in the region, with guests arriving in large numbers to enjoy an event that combined cinema with social interaction and nightlife in one setting.
For many attendees, the night offered more than a traditional movie screening. From the atmosphere surrounding the film to the energy of the after-party, the event created an opportunity for guests to connect, unwind and experience a different side of entertainment in the Coal City.
With more than 2,000 guests in attendance, the Enugu edition stands as a significant moment in the Movie in the Park National Tour. The tour continues on September 19, when Movie in the Park makes its next stop in Akwa Ibom State, as the platform continues to expand its community around cinema, culture and entertainment across Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, Perry Amu, Brand and Customer Marketing Lead for West Africa at Campari, said, ‘Movie in the Park is exactly the kind of experience we want to be part of as a brand. It brings people together, creates a moment worth remembering, and gives us a genuine way to connect with our consumers in Enugu.
“We are proud to support a platform that is building community around entertainment across Nigeria, and we look forward to the next stop for this year’s tour.”
