The Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Ebonyi North, Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, has urged Ebonyi people stick with the ruling All Progressives Congress APC by voting the party in all fort coming elections saying that their support will not be taken for granted.
Nwebonyi further commended Governor Francis Ogbonna for his developmental achievements in three years in office adding that his achievements will speak for him and the party.
Speaking at Iboko on Thursday during the APC Mega Rally and Grand Finale of the 2026 Local Government Election Campaign, He said the Governor’s projects across the state have strengthened the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
He highlighted the Governor’s overseas scholarship programme, road projects, royal palaces and other infrastructure across Ebonyi State.
He also pointed to his own constituency projects, including concrete roads, scholarships for over 930 students, houses for widows and underprivileged persons, solar-powered street lights and potable water projects.
“My concrete roads, scholarships, houses for widows and underprivileged persons, solar-powered street lights and potable water projects are doing the consultations and campaigning for me.”
He praised Governor Nwifuru for creating more opportunities for women in leadership and commended the APC for presenting Mrs. Nnenna Helen Aduga as its chairmanship candidate for Izzi LGA.
He urged the people of Izzi to come out on Saturday and vote for all APC candidates.
Also speaking, Director-General of the Ebonyi State Broadcasting Corporation, Tony Nwizi, urged Aduga to prioritise rural roads, potable water, shelter for the aged and peacebuilding if elected.
Nwizi said improved rural roads would facilitate the movement of agricultural produce and stimulate economic activities, while urging Aduga to consolidate peace and ensure development reached communities across Izzi.
The rally was attended by the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Princess Patricia Obila, who represented the Governor; State APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha; council chairmen; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters Chief Uchenna Igwe, Commissioner for Health, Chief Moses Ikenna Ekuma, Chief Edward Nkweg, traditional rulers; religious leaders; campaign officials; support groups; and a large crowd of APC supporters.
