American University of Nigeria (AUN) and St. George’s University (SGU) School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, have formalised an academic affiliation aimed at expanding structured pathways for students pursuing careers in medicine.

Through this affiliation, eligible AUN students will have access to a structured admissions pathway to SGU. SGU will also engage with students through a range of academic and career-focused initiatives, including webinars, in-person events, clinical workshops, and one-on-one advisory sessions. These activities are designed to help students gain insights into the medical profession and life as a future SGU student.

American University of Nigeria (AUN), founded in 2003 in Yola, Adamawa State, is a private university recognised as Africa’s first “Development University” and the first American-style institution of higher learning in Sub-Saharan Africa. Accredited by Nigeria’s National Universities Commission, AUN offers undergraduate and graduate programmes across seven schools, including the School of Arts & Sciences and the School of Basic Medical & Allied Health Sciences, and has built a reputation for small class sizes and rigourous preparation for globally competitive careers. Through concentrations such as Biomedical Sciences and programmes in Nursing Science and Public Health, AUN provides structured academic advising supporting students pursuing competitive professional pathways, including medicine.
