As part of its social responsibility activities aimed at strengthening bonds with its host community, the National Examinations Council (NECO) has built a new palace for the village head of Gidan Mangoro in Bosso Local Council of Niger State.

Inaugurating the palace yesterday, the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of NECO, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, explained that the palace symbolises unity, cultural heritage and the enduring role of traditional institutions in strengthening social cohesion.

He added that the palace also serves as a centre for leadership, counsel, reconciliation and community organisation.

According to him, Gidan Mangoro hosts the NECO headquarters and has continued to show hospitality, understanding and peace, which he attributed to its peaceful nature and the maturity of its leadership.

Wushishi added that over the years, this has translated into a cordial and productive relationship that has enabled the exams body to operate effectively, attract staff and visitors, and sustain its activities without unnecessary disruptions.

Thankful for the gesture, the village turbaned Wushishi as the Maji Dadin Gidan Mangoro, in recognition of his contributions to the development of the community, with the community head, Sani Zagi, disclosing that NECO has executed impactful projects for the community over the years.
