Ogun: Police, Immigration intensify efforts to tighten border security

Ogun State Police Command

The Ogun State Police Command and the Nigeria Immigration Service have intensified efforts to enhance proactive intelligence sharing and strengthen joint vigilance along the border in order to safeguard internal security.

The agreement was reached during a courtesy visit by the Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Ogun State Command, CIS Ganiyu Oladele, to the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, at the Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

Speaking, CIS Oladele, highlighted the critical role of seamless cooperation between the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Police Force, saying that the purpose of the visit was to strengthen existing interagency synergy, foster intelligence sharing, and consolidate joint security initiatives across the state.

The Comptroller expressed deep appreciation to Ojajuni for the warm reception accorded to him and his delegation, noting that his visionary leadership, strategic operational strides, and the notable achievements recorded by the Ogun State Police Command since assuming office.

In response, the Commissioner of Police reiterated the Command’s readiness to sustain a cordial working relationship with the Nigeria Immigration Service to ensure public safety and peace across Ogun State.
Ojajuni said that the visit of the Comptroller and his team underscored that effective security governance relies on strong interagency partnerships.

He, however, wished Oladele, a successful and impactful tenure, assuring him of the Command’s continuous support toward achieving their shared national security objectives.
