PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Lagos State Chapter

The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Lagos State Chapter, has described the Deputy Governor of Lagos State and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 governorship election, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, as an experienced public servant capable of sustaining the state’s development trajectory.

The movement stated this in a message marking Hamzat’s 62nd birthday, as it joined his family, friends, associates and well-wishers in celebrating the occasion.

It described Hamzat as a seasoned technocrat with extensive experience in governance, administration and public policy.

According to the group, his years of service in government have equipped him with the institutional knowledge and leadership experience required to consolidate existing achievements and drive further development across Lagos State.

The movement said Lagos’ development had been shaped by successive administrations, beginning with the tenure of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as governor, when important institutional reforms and policy initiatives were introduced.

It noted that the administration of former Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola subsequently focused on the implementation and expansion of key development programmes.

The group also acknowledged the contributions of subsequent administrations led by Akinwunmi Ambode and the incumbent Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, saying they had continued to advance infrastructure and other sectors of the state’s economy.

Against this background, the movement said Hamzat’s years of experience and exposure in public administration placed him in a position to sustain continuity while introducing new ideas to meet emerging challenges.

It identified infrastructure, medical and healthcare delivery, security and public safety, youth empowerment, skills development and economic inclusion as areas where his experience could be valuable.

The group stressed that continuity in governance should not mean an absence of innovation, but the ability to preserve successful policies and institutions while identifying areas requiring improvement and developing new solutions.

It also praised Hamzat’s leadership style, describing him as calm, measured, accessible and attentive to detail.

According to the movement, his ability to engage diverse stakeholders, listen to different perspectives and promote constructive dialogue has been evident in the discharge of his responsibilities as deputy governor.

The group said these attributes, combined with his experience in public administration, would be important in sustaining the state’s development programmes and responding to the changing needs of its residents.

The movement expressed confidence that Hamzat could build on the foundation laid by previous administrations while expanding the frontiers of development if given the opportunity to lead the state.

It congratulated the deputy governor on attaining the age of 62 and offered prayers for his continued good health, wisdom and divine guidance.

The group also wished Hamzat greater fulfilment in his service to Lagos State and Nigeria, as well as success in his political endeavours and the 2027 governorship election.

The statement was signed by Amosu Tomi, Coordinator, PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Lagos State Chapter.
