The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has honoured three of its officers for outstanding performance and commitment to traffic management in the state.

The officers, Ajayi Bembe Babatunde, Zonal Head, Zone B; Adebanjo Alade, Comptroller, Apapa; and Age Luqman, Zonal Head, Bariga/Iyana-Oworo, received the “Award of Outstanding Exemplary Performance” from City Herald Magazine.

The awards were presented at LASTMA headquarters in Oshodi, Lagos, in recognition of the officers’ dedication to duty, professionalism and contributions to traffic management and public service.

Speaking during the presentation, LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, commended City Herald Magazine for recognising the officers’ efforts and highlighting the work of personnel operating across the state.

Bakare-Oki said LASTMA officers work under demanding conditions to manage traffic, respond to road incidents and promote safety on Lagos roads.

He said recognising individual performance would reinforce the agency’s commitment to professionalism, accountability and discipline in the discharge of its responsibilities.

The LASTMA boss urged the award recipients to sustain their commitment to duty, while encouraging other officers to emulate their dedication to public service.

He added that excellence in public service should be measured not only by the responsibilities assigned to an officer but also by the quality and impact of the work delivered.

The ceremony brought together LASTMA officials and representatives of City Herald Magazine to celebrate the three officers for their contributions to traffic management and public service in Lagos.
