Hundreds of students at Schools in the riverine communities of Delta State received educational materials in the 2026 “Street-2-School outreach of the Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF)

The first phase of the outreach began at Oporoza, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West LGA, Delta State, where the Foundation visited schools, engaged with school managements and reached hundreds of pupils and students with educational materials, including teachers.

At Gbaraun Grammar School, EBF donated 120 School bags, 4000 Notebook, 120 Mathematical sets and writing materials to over 100 students.The team also engaged with the students, encouraging them to take their education seriously, and to believe in their abilities and remain committed to building a better future.

The team also visited Fiyewei Primary School, Oporoza, where educational materials were distributed to over 200 pupils. The pupils received 200 School bags, 3000 Notebooks, 150 mathematical sets and writing materials.

The foundation also recognised the contributions of teachers to educational development and gifted over 50 teachers with appreciation care kits.

Earlier, the EDF team paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the traditional ruler of the Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Hrm Oboro-Gbaraun 11,Aketekpe, Agadagba, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom.

According to the team, the visit was particularly significant because the monarch had offered his prayers and encouragement to the Foundation at the early stages of its journey in 2020.

At the palace, the EBF team presented an update on the Foundation’s activities from its establishment in 2020 to date, highlighting the various educational, humanitarian and community-focused interventions undertaken over the years.

They acknowledged the valuable support it has received from notable and illustrious sons and daughters of Gbaramatu Kingdom, whose contributions and goodwill have been of great importance to the Foundation’s work.

The Foundation was received at the palace by Chief George Timiyan, Chief Julius Tonfawei and other notable chiefs. In appreciation of the monarch’s hospitality, prayers, goodwill and continued support, EBF presented him with gifts on behalf of the Foundation.

The Foundation however, rued the accessibility challenges they encountered during the outreach, stressing that the difficult terrain and access routes presented significant challenges for the team and logistics.

They said they are not deterred by the environmental challenges, vowing to reach more communities with the Street 2School outreach.
