The Forum of Presidents-General of the 24 Urhobo Kingdoms has endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, as the sole candidates while declaring support for other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
 
The endorsement was made yesterday, when the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Arthur Akpowowo, representing the governor, the Chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, Solomon Igrakpata, and the State Director of Protocol, Sunday Onoriode, visited the forum’s secretariat at Effurun, Delta State.
 
Speaking during the visit, Chairman of the forum, Monday Arawore, said the Presidents-General were committed to working with the government in power to protect the interests of their communities and ensure that their people benefited from government programmes.
 
“As Presidents-General, our position is clear. We work with the government in power because our primary responsibility is to protect the interests of our communities and ensure that our people benefit from government programmes and interventions,” Arawore said.

Also, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has predicted a decisive victory for the ruling APC in Akwa Ibom State.
 
Speaking during the state’s 39th-anniversary celebrations, Akpabio touted the political stability achieved in the oil-rich Niger Delta region as a blueprint for the national electoral roadmap.

He explicitly called for the re-election of Tinubu and the incumbent state governor, Umo Eno.
 
Addressing a crowd of stakeholders, Akpabio framed the 2027 election as a referendum on continuity and structural reform. He argued that the economic policies initiated by Tinubu, while demanding significant sacrifice from the populace, are vital for Nigeria’s long-term industrialisation and infrastructure development.
 
“The case for re-electing Tinubu rests on national stabilisation and long-term economic reforms. The Renewed Hope agenda is a trajectory that Nigeria must maintain to achieve sustained prosperity,” Akpabio said.
