Air Peace has attributed flight disruptions at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, to the unavailability of Jet A1 aviation fuel.

The airline, in a statement issued by its management, said the initial delays to its Abuja operations were caused by the lack of aviation fuel, which affected Air Peace and other airlines operating from the airport.

It said following the availability of fuel, the affected flights commenced operations accordingly.

However, the airline said its Abuja-Maiduguri service could not subsequently operate as planned due to prevailing Visual Flight Rules (VFR) conditions.

According to the airline, although an extension had initially been granted for the flight, the extension became untenable by the time the aircraft was ready for boarding, as the flight could not operate beyond sunset.

The airline insisted that passengers were duly informed of the delays and provided with refreshments throughout the disruption.

It added that following the cancellation of the flight, affected passengers were provided with hotel accommodation, while arrangements were made to operate the flight the following day.

Air Peace expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to passengers, assuring them that their safety and wellbeing remained its priority.

The airline said it would continue to prioritise the safety and welfare of passengers in all its operations.
