The City Boy Movement (CBM) has received the Outstanding Contribution to Youth Inclusiveness, Mobilisation and Empowerment Award in recognition of its contributions to youth engagement, grassroots mobilisation and leadership development.
The recognition highlights the growing importance of youth participation in civic and political activities and the role of youth-led organisations in providing platforms for young Nigerians to engage in leadership, community development and public affairs.
The award was presented by Barr. Adesuyi Daramola, APC South-West Youth Leader, during the Leadership and Engagement Programme held in Lagos, where CBM was recognised for its efforts to engage young Nigerians and promote greater participation in community and civic activities.
The award citation recognised the movement’s commitment to youth inclusiveness, grassroots mobilisation, inclusive participation and the advancement of young people through meaningful engagement and leadership opportunities.
CBM was also acknowledged for its role in supporting grassroots mobilisation and creating platforms through which young people can participate in community development, leadership and public affairs.
The event further recognised the contributions of key stakeholders, including Barr. Seyi Tinubu, for his support for youth inclusion and empowerment, and Hon. Olawande Ayodele Wisdom, Minister of State for Youth Development, for his contributions to youth development.
The leadership of CBM, including its Director-General, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, and South-West Coordinator, Hon. Olamijuwonlo Akala, was also acknowledged for their roles in coordinating the movement’s activities and grassroots engagement across the region.
