The induction ceremony, held at the university, was described as a landmark moment that transitioned the graduates from students into legally recognized, ethically bound professionals entrusted with serving humanity.

The Registrar of the Council, Mr. Ndagi Alhassan, who led the induction, described the new inductees as the future leaders of Nigerian healthcare, adding that they are advocates who will stand up for patient dignity and caregivers whose quiet words of comfort will give struggling patients the strength to keep fighting.

Alhassan said the ceremony was both a celebration of the graduates’ accomplishments and a solemn transition into a profession rooted in service, empathy, and absolute integrity, noting that the inductees had gained official legal recognition, entry into the NMCN Register, and professional practice licenses.

He advised the new nurses to touch the lives of their patients and grieving families and never allow the routine of daily hospital life to dull their sensitivity, stressing that having survived an intense curriculum, countless hours on hospital wards, and the heavy emotional weight of caring for people at their most vulnerable, they have been tested and are now qualified to answer a society deeply calling for healers.

“Nursing is an art requiring an exclusive devotion as rigorous as any sculptor’s work. Your work will never be just about serving medications or checking vital signs; you are bridging the gap between illness and recovery through the sheer power of human empathy,” Alhassan stated.

The Registrar further noted that the path of a nurse is as demanding as it is rewarding, warning that the inductees would face long, tiring shifts that test their physical endurance and encounter resource constraints that challenge their creativity.

“Elizade University has built your foundation. The Council is handing you your mandate. Now, the world is waiting for your impact. Go forth with courage, serve with excellence, and let your practice be defined by both clinical brilliance and radical kindness. Serve with all your heart and always strive for excellence,” Alhassan added.

On her part, the Head of the Department of the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Alice Ogundele, said the students did exceptionally well in all their professional examinations, disclosing that the department scored a hundred percent in the just-concluded midwifery examinations.

Ogundele also revealed that one of the students demonstrated a high level of research literacy by publishing a paper in a reputable journal with her registered nurse project, charging the graduates to look beyond traditional boundaries and acquire clinical excellence without limiting their ambitions.

She advised the newly inaugurated nurses to be innovative in identifying gaps in healthcare delivery and creating entrepreneurial solutions to address them, emphasizing that the world needs nurses who are clinical experts as well as nurse scholars, researchers, policymakers, and innovators who will challenge the status quo and bring innovation into the profession.

Also speaking, the Vice Chancellor of Elizade University, Prof. Philip Oguntunde, said healthcare is ripe for innovation, noting that nursing entrepreneurship empowers practitioners to establish independent health consultations, home care agencies, and specialized maternal and child centers.

The founder of the institution, Chief Michael Ade. OJo stated that “As you begin this professional journey, uphold the values upon which Elizade University was founded: integrity, honesty, diligence, excellence, and service.” Go out and make a difference. Be nurses who will bring honor to your families, to Elizade University, and to Nigeria.

“My greatest satisfaction as founder will be to see the products of this university become professionals, role models, leaders, and agents of positive change, demonstrating that our investment in education has been worthwhile. Carry the Elizade name with pride, and ensure that wherever you go, it is associated with excellence, competence, compassion, and integrity.”
