Chief of Staff (CoS) to Oyo State Governor, Segun Ogunwuyi, has resigned.
Ogunwuyi announced his resignation in a letter dated October 12, 2026, stating that his decision took effect from the same day.
In the letter addressed to Makinde, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the state government and people of Oyo State, describing his tenure as a fulfilling experience.
Meanwhile, Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed Akinwale Akinwole, popularly called ‘Wolekanle,’ as his new Chief of Staff.
Makinde also approved the appointment of Mrs Aderonke Adedayo as Director-General of the Due Process Office.
The appointments were announced in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Musibau Babatunde.
According to the statement, the appointments take immediate effect.
However, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has described last weekend’s two-hour media chat of Makinde as a waste of time of the audience as he (Makinde) allegedly failed to address key issues that were of direct concerns to residents of the state.
In a statement yesterday and made available to journalists in Ibadan by its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, the Oyo APC described the “early Monday morning resignation of Makinde’s Chief of Staff, Ogunwuyi, as an ominous sign that all is not well with the government of the day in Oyo State, saying that the governor would have to retrace his steps and seek help from the appropriate quarters within and outside the state.
