Ghanaian football officials have started mobilising support for their beach soccer national team ahead of the decisive leg of their Senegal 2026 African Beach Soccer Nations Cup qualifier against Nigeria.
The Black Sharks of Ghana will host Nigeria’s Super Sand Eagles tomorrow at the Keta Emancipation Beach.
The first leg of the encounter ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw in Kaduna.
According to reports from Accra, the Black Sharks have been preparing intensively in Keta with a view to beating Nigeria to the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations ticket. A win will see the hosts through to the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal.
The story said that the officials have been mobilising fans in the Volta Region and beyond to troop to the venue to support the Black Sharks to victory.
Meanwhile, the Director of Sports Development in the Kaduna State Ministry of Sports Development, Hassan Buba, has assured the Super Sand Eagles that they will not lack support during the second leg of the tie in Ghana.
Buba gave the message on behalf of the Kaduna State Commissioner for Sports Development, Ben Kure, during a visit by the Sand Eagles before their departure from Kaduna Thursday morning.
He assured the players and officials of the state government’s support as they prepare for the decisive encounter.
He also conveyed the commissioner’s goodwill message, explaining that the latter was unable to attend due to another important engagement outside the State.
He urged the team to maintain discipline throughout their stay in Ghana, offered prayers for a successful outing, and further reaffirmed the state’s support for the team, expressing confidence in their ability to secure a positive result. “We are solidly behind you in spirit, even though we cannot be physically present in Ghana. We are praying for you. Insha Allah, you will return victorious,” he added.
