High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has deployed 34 campaign vehicles to Kwara State to support grassroots mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Tompolo, the Grand Patron of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, announced the deployment through the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services, Chief Kestin Pondi, who represented him at the inauguration of the movement’s Kwara State chapter in Ilorin.
Pondi urged residents to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) across all elective positions in the 2027 general elections while cautioning them against being misled by political opponents.
He said the vehicles were provided to strengthen the movement’s campaign activities and promote Tinubu’s policies and political vision across communities in the state.
Pondi called on voters to elect APC candidates from the presidency to the National Assembly, governorship, state assemblies and other elective positions, arguing that the president needed strong legislative support to implement his administration’s programmes.
“His message to Kwara State is simple. He said that we should not allow ourselves to be deceived. He said that we should ensure that we do the right thing,” Pondi said.
He added that electing APC candidates at all levels would facilitate the implementation of policies aimed at improving security, infrastructure, healthcare and education.
“If we want better roads, we need to vote for Tinubu. If we want a better health sector, we need to vote for Tinubu. If we want a better educational system, we need to vote for Tinubu,” he said.
Pondi said the newly inaugurated chapter would take the campaign to the grassroots through door-to-door engagement and outreach to markets, churches, mosques and communities across the state.
He added that the 34 vehicles would support the dissemination of the president’s policies and encourage voters to support Tinubu and APC candidates in the next general election.
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, congratulated the newly inaugurated executives of the movement and urged them to regard their positions as a responsibility entrusted to them by the people.
The governor charged them to communicate honestly with residents, listen to their concerns and relay feedback to the appropriate authorities.
AbdulRazaq also cautioned members against violence and defamation, urging them to respect others and conduct their political activities responsibly.
“We’re not here for violence and defamation. Respect everyone you can see,” he said.
He further called for cooperation between the movement and existing APC structures at the national, state and grassroots levels.
Speaking, the APC governorship candidate in Kwara State, Yakubu Danladi-Saliu, expressed confidence in the party’s prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that the state remained firmly behind Tinubu.
He described the inauguration as part of a nationwide mobilisation campaign to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence.
“This is not just an inauguration of PBAT Door-to-Door. We are going round the country, and we are here in Ilorin, Kwara State. We are at home. Tinubu is for Kwara, Kwara is for Tinubu,” he said.
The National Coordinator of the movement, Sunday Adekanbi Asuku, also urged residents to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Asuku cited salary payments by state governments and the absence of university strikes as developments he attributed to Tinubu’s administration, urging voters to support the president for another term.
He said he understood the effects of industrial action in the university system, having experienced disruptions caused by strikes by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
“I am a product of ASUU strike, and I know what it means. All thanks to Mr President,” he said.
Asuku urged eligible voters to obtain and use their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that participation in the election was necessary for those seeking to exercise their voting rights.
