NDLEA exempts paramilitary job seekers from paying for drug test

NDLEA

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has warned applicants seeking recruitment into four agencies under the Ministry of Interior against making payments for the mandatory Drug Integrity Test (DIT), saying the exercise has already been fully funded by the ministry.

The agency said arrangements had been concluded for the screening of applicants seeking employment into the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

In a statement on Friday, the Director of Media and Advocacy, NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, said the Ministry of Interior had made bulk payments to cover the drug tests for all new intakes, stressing that candidates were not required to pay any fee to participate in the exercise.

He consequently advised applicants and personnel involved in the recruitment process not to make payments to NDLEA officials, designated testing centres or through any other payment channel for the exercise.

Babafemi explained that candidates would be required to access the NDLEA Drug Integrity Test portal through a designated link or access point to be provided on the respective institutional portals of the recruiting agencies.

He said the platform would enable applicants to complete the necessary registration and documentation before proceeding with the screening without incurring additional costs.

The NDLEA expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Interior for its cooperation, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring a smooth, transparent and efficient conduct of the exercise.
