President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, has accused his Trade Union Congress (TUC) counterpart, Festus Osifo, of being largely absent from Nigeria, alleging that he travels from the United States to attend union meetings before returning abroad.
Ajaero made the allegation while criticising Osifo’s leadership of the TUC, claiming that the union president does not reside in Nigeria and only comes into the country for meetings before travelling back to the United States.
The NLC president’s comments have brought renewed attention to the relationship between the leadership of the two major labour centres.
Ajaero’s allegation, however, represents his position on Osifo’s presence and leadership of the TUC.
