Pivot Integrated Energy Services Limited has redeemed its N8.25bn Series 1 Tranche A Commercial Paper two days ahead of its scheduled maturity, fulfilling its first repayment obligation since entering Nigeria’s capital market.
The 90-day instrument, which was due to mature on November 2, 2026, was fully settled on October 31, 2026, less than three months after the company’s maiden commercial paper issuance.
The early redemption marks a milestone in the company’s capital market activities and signals its commitment to meeting its financial obligations as it pursues expansion in Nigeria’s downstream energy sector.
Pivot’s maiden Series 1 Commercial Paper issuance, which closed in August 2026, attracted subscriptions of N100.08bn against a target of N100bn, indicating strong investor interest in the offer.
The issuance was structured into four tranches with tenors of 90, 180, 270 and 364 days, respectively, and forms the first phase of the company’s N300bn Commercial Paper Programme.
Following the redemption of Tranche A, the remaining 180-day, 270-day and 364-day instruments are still outstanding and will be settled at their respective maturity dates.
Commenting on the development, the Managing Director,Pivot Integrated Energy Services Limited, Babajide Babatope, said the early repayment demonstrated the company’s commitment to investors who supported its entry into the capital market.
He said, “Our debut in the capital market came with a responsibility to every investor who backed us. We are pleased to have fulfilled our first repayment obligation ahead of schedule. For us, this is about more than meeting a financial commitment; it is about building a relationship with the investment community on the foundation of trust, accountability and financial discipline.”
Babatope appreciated pension funds, insurance companies, banks, fund managers and other institutional investors who participated in the issuance, noting that their support remained important to the company’s long-term growth plans.
He also commended Pathway Advisors Limited, which served as Transaction Sponsor, Financial Adviser, Lead Issuing House and Lead Arranger, for its support throughout the transaction.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Pathway Advisors Limited, Adekunle Alade, said the early repayment demonstrated the importance of financial discipline in building investor confidence, particularly among companies accessing the capital market for the first time.
He said, “Investor confidence is built through consistent actions. For a debut issuer, meeting its repayment obligations ahead of schedule sends a positive signal to the market about its commitment to financial responsibility. Pivot has taken an important step in establishing its repayment track record, which will be relevant as it progresses with the remaining phases of its N300bn Programme.”
Alade said financial advisers had responsibilities beyond facilitating debt issuances, adding that continuous engagement with clients throughout the lifespan of debt instruments was important.
He said such responsibilities included monitoring the deployment of proceeds and ensuring that companies were adequately prepared to meet their repayment obligations.
According to him, Pivot’s early settlement of the first tranche reflected the importance of financial planning, advisory support and investor engagement in debt transactions.
