Church empowers fashion designers

No fewer than 21 women benefited from the fourth edition of two-year training fashion design organised by Grace-to-Grace International Church, Ikorodu at a cost of about N4 million.

The Church also empowered the beneficiaries with a sewing machine each at the end of the training, in addition to cash gift of between N10, 000 to N20, 000 as start-up grant.

General Overseer of the Church, Mrs. Atinuke Adesanya said the aim of the programme was to reach out to the community and elevate people from one level to another level.

She disclosed that the initiative started about four years ago and the Church would not stop since there would always be the poor among the congregation.

“Today, we have 21 ladies graduating and this gives me joy because we have been able to make a change in their life.

“Some of those that graduated two years ago did not stop at this level but moved to the next level and that is my happiness. We have their testimonies and we are very glad.

My advice to the beneficiaries is that they should not stop at this level as the sky would not be their limit but the starting point,” she said.

She asked religious organisations to emulate its example by reaching out to the needy in their various communities and should not limit this to their members.

Special Guest of honour at the occasion, Prophet Joseph Isa El-Buba described the Church’s gesture as practical Christianity and commended its leadership for bringing out the potential in the beneficiaries by empowering and giving them direction in life.

He enjoined the beneficiaries to make a difference with the opportunity and also touch the lives of others.
