NBA demands apology

LESS than 24 hours after he was granted administrative bail from his arrest and incarceration from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) office, Lagos lawyer, Rickey Tarfa (SAN) accompanied by 32 Senior Advocates of Nigeria, led by the former President, Nigerian Bar Association(NBA), Chief Wole Olanipekun, yesterday approached Federal High Court, Lagos asking the court to compel the anti-graft agency and its Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Mustapha Magu to pay him N2.5billion in damages.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lagos branch has condemned the arrest and detention of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria(SAN), Mr. Rickey Tarfa by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and demanded an unreserved apology from the agency.

The decision was conveyed yesterday at a press conference addressed by the chairman of the branch Martin Ogunleye at the foyer of the Lagos High Court, Igbosere.
