Grandma, as we fondly called you, you are the brightness of our firmament, the calm in the storms, and the ever-guiding light in this labyrinth, called life.
Our profound and cherished blessing was that we met you, spent time with you, lived with you, observed and learned so much from you, and saw you cared and prayed for us at all times. Indeed, it was a rare privilege being with you on this side of heaven. You are a gem, gentle, conscientious, deliberate, insightful, caring, loving, and gracious.
Your daughter, Kehinde, is a true reflection of your person; discipline, focus, decorous, and noble and we are all better for it. A wise man once said, “If you want to know how your wife will be in the future, look at her mother”. We have seen you and we are assured of a good future for your daughter and certainly all your children and grandchildren. You have done an excellent job in birthing and raising two generations of world changers and you did it so gently and gracefully. In the last 17 years, you undertook this journey alone after the demise of your husband, our father, and you became the Matriarch of our dynasty. May we continue to live worthy of your sacrifice and dedication.
Thank you for never ceasing to pray for us. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to love you, take care of you, and dote on you. Thank you for being a sweet Grandma to our children. Thank you for being a great mum even to our friends. Thank you for the simple yet inspiring life that you lived. Thank you for being true to yourself and humanity.
We are certain that you are in the bosom of your Lord and saviour Jesus Christ and you are smiling down on us. We will keep making you proud! Sleep on, Sweet Grandma.
