Kayowa Ogunrinde, Cluster Head of West Africa at Logitech, has been awarded the Visionary Leader in Technology and Business Award at the seventh CIO and C-Suite Awards Africa 2026, held at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The award honours Ogunrinde’s work in building and expanding global technology brands across Nigeria and West Africa, reflecting a career built on commercial leadership, market development and business growth.
Speaking after the ceremony at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, Ogunrinde said his career had focused on building strong market presence for international brands, developing local capabilities and delivering sustainable business results.
He cited his experience with Canon and his current role at Logitech, where he has supported the company’s growth across Nigeria’s retail, commercial and enterprise markets.
Under his leadership, Logitech has strengthened its position across Nigeria’s key peripherals and gaming categories. Ogunrinde said the company had established market leadership in keyboards and keyboard-and-mouse combos, pointing devices, webcams, headsets and audio devices, as well as gaming products.
According to Ogunrinde, Logitech’s local operations, supported by a Nigerian team, distributors, resellers and strategic partnerships, have helped strengthen the company’s market presence since local operations commenced in Nigeria in January 2022.
He attributed the recognition to the collective efforts of his team, emphasising the importance of collaboration in achieving business results.
Beyond business growth, Ogunrinde highlighted the importance of developing local capacity in technology, data management and infrastructure. He argued that Nigeria must strengthen its ability to manage and protect critical national assets while participating in an increasingly interconnected global economy.
“As a country, even though we are part of a global village, we also have our identity. In data, people, systems and infrastructure, we must have our own stock,” he said.
Ogunrinde expressed optimism about Nigeria’s prospects for developing stronger local technology capabilities, noting that government, businesses and industry institutions were increasingly recognising the importance of local expertise, infrastructure and capabilities across the technology ecosystem.
On the challenges of doing business in Nigeria, he identified foreign exchange volatility and inconsistent government policies as significant concerns for businesses operating in the country.
However, he maintained that navigating such challenges could create opportunities for innovation, competitive advantage and profitability.
“Every problem you solve provides an economic advantage for your brand,” he said.
Ogunrinde also welcomed Logitech’s recent commencement of manufacturing operations in India, expressing hope that Nigeria could eventually develop the industrial capacity and enabling environment required to attract similar technology manufacturing investments.
Logitech is a Swiss technology company that designs and markets products for computing, collaboration, communication and gaming. Its portfolio includes keyboards, mice, headsets, gaming accessories, webcams and video-conferencing solutions.
