…Seeks Assembly confirmation for commissioner nominee
Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of over 1,000 political aides as part of a move towards strengthening governance and improving service delivery in the state.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, includes the nomination of one Commissioner, the appointment of three Special Advisers, 90 Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), and 910 Special Assistants (SAs).
Taibat Yemi Oloruntoba, from Akoko North-West Local Government, was nominated as Commissioner for Special Duties, with her name forwarded to the Ondo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The three newly appointed Special Advisers are Abimbola Fajolu from Ileoluji-Okeigbo Local Council, who will oversee Environment matters; Ade Adeniyi, Ondo West Local Council, appointed as Special Adviser on Rural and Community Development; and Muyiwa Ogunyemi from Akoko North-East Local Council, who will serve as Special Adviser on Transport.
According to a statement made available to The Guardian, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, said the move was designed to enhance grassroots engagement and ensure effective governance across the state’s 18 council areas.
The 90 Senior Special Assistants appointed include Toyin Ogungbure, who will serve as SSA on Women Mobilisation for the Southern Senatorial District, and Bidemi Obayangbon, appointed as SSA on Forestry.
Others include Akin Adeniyi as SSA on Community Engagement for the Central Senatorial District, Obayan Theophilus Ayodeji for the Northern District, and Kelvin Solomon as SSA on Students Affairs.
Samson Bazuaye was named SSA on Oil and Gas, Fade Ojamomi was named SSA on Youth Empowerment and Job Creation, and Samad Orijeminiyi was appointed as SSA on Scholarship.
Aiyedatiwa also appointed Abdukadiri Adenoyi, Nzuoma Egbulefu, and Garba Goni as SSAs on Non-Indigenes Affairs.
