For the second time this year, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), Ahmed Kuru, has emerged the CEO of The Year at the 13th edition of the Excellence Recognition Awards, organised by Global Excellence magazine in Lagos.

Earlier in the year, Kuru was also honoured in Lagos as African Best Rated CEO of The Year at the second edition of the National Development Forum/award organised by African Development Magazine, an international news publication.

The latest award, according to the organisers, was in recognition of the boldness, doggedness and contribution of the AMCON’s boss to go after some of the most difficult debtors in the history of Nigeria and ensure they repay their debts.

Consequently, Kuru was adjudged winner by the panel of judges after a careful evaluation of the difficult assignment he does at AMCON and the fact that he goes about it without fear or favour.

While accepting the award, Kuru thanked Global Excellence magazine for initiating and sustaining the award in the last 13 years, adding that it was heart-warming that somebody somewhere recognizes the good work AMCON was doing for the country.

Represented at the event by the Head of Corporate Communications, Jude Nwauzor, he called on Nigerians to support AMCON in its quest to recover the huge debts that a few individuals owe the country.
