NICArb elects Ajogwu as president

THE Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (NICArb) has elected Prof. Fabian Ajogwu as President and Chairman of the Governing Council. 
 
He took over as president following the retirement of Aare Afe Babalola, who made significant contributions towards the growth of the institute during his tenure.
 
A statement by the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, NICArb, Shola Oshodi-John, said Ajogwu is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and Professor of Corporate Governance from Lagos Business School, who brings years of arbitration and governance to the leadership of the institute. 
 


An alumnus of the Business School of Oxford University and Lagos Business School, Ajogwu also holds a doctorate in law from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland; MBA from the IESE Business School, University of Navarra, Barcelona and Law degrees from the University of Nigeria and the University of Lagos. 
 
Ajogwu is the author of the leading arbitration text – ‘Commercial Arbitration in Nigeria: Law and Practice’ as well as ‘Fair Hearing’ and ‘Mergers and Acquisition in Nigeria: Law and Practice’ among others.
He practices law at Kenna Partners. 
 
He chairs the Novare Group in Nigeria (owners of Novare malls), chaired ARM Harith Infrastructure Ltd (Nigeria’s pioneer infrastructure fund), and chairs NES Global, among others as an Independent Non-Executive.
