A technology-driven auto startup firm, Cars45, has partnered with top auto maintenance, repair and training facilitators, Automedics Limited to boost jobs creation for automobile technicians and engineers in the sale and maintenance of used cars.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cars45, Etop Ikpe, said: “As a Nigerian car user, it can sometimes be hard to get reliable hands in the auto industry and our overall goal is to expand the tech and automobile ecosystem by ensuring that we have capable and certified technicians to do car valuation.

“We are confident that this partnership will help us get a verifiable database of used cars in Nigeria and further change the way used cars are sold in country.”

He added that Cars45 now has 15 centers in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt to serve its growing customer base.

The Chief Executive Officer of Automedics Limited, Kunle Shonaike, also stated that, “This is a mutually beneficial business collaboration that will add value to the used cars in the auto market. The training of the specialists who will assess the vehicles is solid; a prospective seller who has used his vehicle well will get good value for maintenance and the buyer will get an asset that gives him value for his money.”

Cars45’s innovative business model focuses on the used cars market and creates value by ensuring that potential sellers get paid for their cars in less than one hour.

According to the firm, this is made possible through its easy-to-use online portal where vehicle owners input their car details for quotation.

“Following that, an appointment is scheduled at any of Cars45 inspection centres in Lagos, Abuja or Port Harcourt. Evaluation of the status of the vehicle is done by certified automedics, technicians and engineers, which leads to a drivability road test.

“After the evaluation, Cars45 makes the seller an offer based on the evaluation result. If the offer is accepted, the firm pays the amount into the owner’s bank account within 45 minutes”, the company explained.

The synergy with automedics, according to Cars45, will help increase job opportunities for auto specialists because of our aggressive expansion programme over the next few months.
