Agbonayinma noted that the country does not belong to one individual but all, irrespective of ethnicity and political party affiliation to build and called on Nigerians to always put the country first in all their dealings.

“I know the times are hard, but I am resolute in the strength of our nation to come out of all challenges.

Nigeria has the capacity and potentials both in human and natural resources to be a great country among the comity of nations.

Meanwhile, barely two days after the announcement of their appointment, the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has said that their appointments constituted a call to service, noting that the task ahead was enormous.

The state government at the weekend announced the appointment of 192 Special Assistants to act as the governor’s representatives across all the wards in the state.

A statement by the Chief of Staff to the governor, Taiwo Akerele said the appointment came on the heels of the final report of the special committee set up to review the recommendations of eligible candidates from the various wards and local councils.

“We congratulate the appointees and state that this is a call to service. This is not the time for much celebrating, as the task ahead is enormous and comes with a high sense of responsibility, decorum, humility and leadership,” the statement said.
