Plans are underway as experts move to tackle the perennial wide skills gaps between institutions of learning and the workplace.
Chief Executive Officer of Career Digest, Joy Chinwokwu, said this would be achieved during the unveiling of the 21st Century Skills Roadmap (21st CSR) that would equip students and prepare them for the workplace.
Slated to be held in Nov at the University of Lagos, she said problems of skills gaps and failures by stakeholders to achieve 21st-century skills would be given a pragmatic approach.
She said Career Digest (CD) is focused on advocating and implementing stakeholders’ interventions to attain 21st-century skills that would ultimately create quality jobs that would help stem the trend of unemployment and multi-dimensional poverty.
Advisory Board Chairman, CD, Prof. Olugbemiro Jegede, said the CD initiative would help Nigeria maximise the privileges of its recent admission into WorldSkills community (as its 89th member), by effectively positioning every stakeholder in the country to embrace emerging global skills, in real-time.
According to him, CD is hopeful of assisting WorldSkills Nigeria to generate needed energy and insights into the global skills movement.
