A non-governmental organisation (NGO), Mathew Oke Prodigy Foundation, has inaugurated its first youth empowerment initiative in the suburban community of Orin, Ekiti State.

The foundation, which was established in 2020 to honour the philanthropic legacy of the late Mathew Oke, a retired Assistant Comptroller of Customs, is dedicated to youth empowerment and a resolute commitment to illuminating the path to a brighter future for the youths.

The Chairman of the foundation, Ayodeji Oke, said the aim is to catalyse a positive change in the lives of young people in the country, especially at this time when social vices are prevalent among the youths.

He said the foundation also had a noble mission to uplift the underprivileged communities through various empowerment initiatives.

Oke announced a yearly provision of N100,000 each to 20 deserving students every year as well as a state-of-the-art tech hub and a vibrant sports centre slated for commissioning in 2024.

“Mathew Oke’s unwavering commitment to the betterment of his community led to significant milestones, including bringing electricity to the entire Orin community, supporting numerous young people in pursuing education, and fostering overall community growth,” he said.
