The free training session which took place in Lagos is aimed at preventing vulnerability by ensuring young women are empowered with knowledge and skills. Founder of Moremi Techstars, Adetogun Samuel Adegunju said: “It’s time to embrace technology, master essential skills, and thrive in today’s digital world! No prior experience? No problem! Start your tech journey from scratch and unlock endless opportunities.
“At Moremi Techstars Foundation, our mission is to empower young girls and women by providing free access to tech skills. We believe that no one should be left behind due to financial constraints. We are dedicated to training more women, but to achieve this, we need sponsorships and partnerships to expand our impact.”
During the programme, a professor from the United States, Prof. Oluwatodimu Elizbeth Ogunade who is also a graduate Instructor at Northern Illinois University led an insightful online session on dedication and persistence in tech. Additionally, Adegunju shared valuable insights on how to identify the best tech skills based on individual tech personalities and skill sets.
“It was a truly transformative experience, and the students were thrilled to gain such valuable knowledge,” Adegunju stated.
He stated that many students lack access to laptops, making it difficult for them to fully participate in digital training.
He seeks support in bridging the gap by providing laptops to young women, which will ensure they can continue learning and grow in tech.
