CIBN confers fellowship on 645, preaches ethics
The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has conferred a Fellowship Award to about 645 members of the institute.
At a fellowship investiture held over the weekend, the institute awarded 15 honourary fellows, 421 elected fellows, and 209 honourary senior members.
President/Chairman of Council, CIBN, Prof Pius Olanrewaju, while commending the new fellows on their dedication and commitment to the banking profession, he urged them to continue to strive for excellence and uphold the highest standards of ethical behaviour in the institute’s pursuit of a vibrant and prosperous Nigerian economy.
He said the yearly event was where the institute confers fellowship status on deserving members who have meritoriously distinguished themselves whilst making notable contributions to the success of the institute, their respective organisations, the banking industry and the economy at large.
While congratulating the awardees, the CIBN chief said their achievements are not only a testament to their hard work and dedication but also a beacon of inspiration to others.
As they step into their new status, he urged them to use the recognition to open new doors, foster meaningful connections, and drive positive change within their spheres of influence.
According to him, “Your new status affords you opportunities to lead by example, mentor others, and contribute even more significantly to the growth and innovation in your respective fields. Embrace this moment and use it to propel yourself and those around you toward greater heights.”
