ICMA inducts 46 as fellows, associates

The Institute of Capital Market Analysts (ICMA) has conferred fellow and associate awards on 46 distinguished Nigerians for their professional, academic and entrepreneurial exploits.

During the maiden induction ceremony in Lagos at the weekend, the institute’s fellowship was bestowed on the president, Gbadegesin Omotayo Gbede; Ade Omolehinwa; Abimbola Kareem; Chief Raymond Hemen Ihyembe; Mrs. Ola Ifezulike; Dr. Isaac Olushola; Ademola Solomon Ogundeji; Adekola Mustapha; Prof. Olaseni Akintola-Bello and Mrs. Mobolanle Adesanya.

Others include Ebi Enabholo; Idowu Bello; Sakiru Ilaka-Yusuf; Mrs. Olamide Yusuf; Adedeji Abiodun Awobotu; Onuka Erem Erem; Oluwakemi Sulaimon; Sir Isaac Okechukwu Chuks; David Olufemi Adefolaju; Sakiru Oyefeso and Moses Oladele Ikotun.

The rest were Rilwan GbolagadeAderinto; Amos Rotimi Olulenu; Chineyem Sopuluchukwu Anyawu; Okpara Michael Eze; Rahman Kolawole Oyekanmi and Sir Ifeanyi Oduwa while Alhaji Atiku Kafaru was honoured posthumously.

The associate plaques went to Lawrence Ifeanyichukwu Oji; Michael Olayinka Adedoyin; Adebolanle Isa Ajimitokan; Luqman Olatokunbo Obileye; Amowie David Aimuihenyefe and Sunday Duncan Akpan.

Others are Mrs. Gloria Dubi Itiveh; Victor Damilola Omotayo; Morayo Adebowale Adesanwo and Anu Oluwayemi Babatunde. In his address, Gbede noted: “The capital market is very strategic to the economic development of any nation. Its dynamism and the increasing diffusion of financial innovations across regions and markets call for the deepening of expertise in the financial market analysis in general and the capital market, the bedrock of long-term capital formation, in particular.”

Earlier, the chairman of the occasion, Omolehinwa charged the inductees on trust, advising them to eschew acts capable of bringing the institute and profession into disrepute.
