Talent recruitment agency, Jobberman, has trained and certified over 5,600 youths in Kano State on soft skills training course.

The three-day free soft skills training is under the Young Africa Works Initiative, by the Mastercard Foundation.

The move, the firm said, was to fulfill its set mandate of training five million young Nigerians in job-ready skills within the next five years.

Chief Executive Officer, Jobberman Nigeria, Ms. Rolake Rosiji, said the initiative had equipped many youths in Kano with skills and knowledge beyond the classroom, making them better graduates with more job opportunities.

She stressed that the initiative increases the employability of Nigerian youths, consequently reducing the number of people who live below the poverty line.

According to her, the northern part of the country has had several challenges regarding access to quality education, which as a result, not many northerners have taken advantage of opportunities on the global stage.

She said the soft skills training initiative by Jobberman and the Mastercard Foundation was the first step to bridging the gap and placing northern youths at the forefront of the marketplace.

To further expand the firm’s reach, the company said it had partnered other organisations and governmental bodies in the state, including the Ministry of Women Affairs, Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals and Policy Strategy Implementation and Evaluation Directorate, among others.

Such partnerships, according to the agency, were critical to the campaign’s success of the organisation, which seeks to partner with more governmental bodies and public/private companies to achieve its goal.

Jobberman’s efforts to impact young people in the north is just getting started. With focus states being Lagos, Kaduna and Kano, the company has also ensured that no one misses out on acquiring job-ready skills, which is why the training is accessible online for FREE via multiple platforms like Coursera, Telegram, Zoom etc. Simply visit for registration and more details.
