Mauritius Ex-President calls for strategic leadership as LIMBSimple holds convention
Former President of Mauritius, Ameenah Gurib-Fakim has stressed the need for strategic leadership and entrepreneurial innovation to drive sustainable economic growth in Africa.
Speaking at the LIMBSimple Strategy Growth Convention held in Lagos, Gurib-Fakim noted Africa’s untapped talent and global advantages in fintech, health tech, and green energy.
According to her, achieving sustainable growth requires a deliberate focus on innovation, strategic planning, and collaboration across sectors.

Gurib-Fakim also pointed to the challenges facing Africa’s youth, citing the fact that 12 million young people enter the job market annually, but only two million secure jobs.
She noted that entrepreneurship in technology, renewable energy, and agribusiness offers unparalleled opportunities to transform Africa’s economic landscape.
The convention, which was organised by LIMBSimple, brought together influential speakers, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to discuss strategies for driving sustainable growth in Africa.
Ezekiel Solesi, CEO of LIMBSimple, urged participants to translate the insights gained into actionable outcomes, emphasising execution and accountability.
