NIKON empowers photographers with modern technology
A large number of photographers benefitted from a day training programme organised by NIKON, producers of NIKON cameras and other accessories.
Speaking at the grand event, which took place in Lagos, the Digital and Training Manager, representative of NIKON in Middle East, Dubai, Arab Emirates, Caesar Parroco, said the motive behind the empowerment is the NIKON’s willingness to encourage photographers in Nigeria to improve and be acquainted with modern technology.
He said the firm organises free empowerment programme every six months, adding that the training was not just for professionals, but also beginners while the empowerment was never limited to users of NIKON cameras alone but cut across all users of various cameras.“Beneficiaries of this programme are to learn new techniques in photography, be acquainted with professional skills to produce content for Facebook and YouTube.
It is not compulsory that they are exceptionally talented before they can be expert in this area, become popular and earn a lot of money by producing content and interesting video content that people will be interested in,” he said.
Parroco, who further expatiated on the programme, said it was not just about listening to trainers, but that the first one hundred registered photographers for the programme through Facebook, who were able to handle their camera effectively were also engaged in taking some professional shots that involved fashion among others and were monitored by the experts, one of whom flew in from Netherlands.
Parroco also disclosed that NIKON has a training school for photographers that had been in existence since 2012.
He further described the programme adopted by NIKON to make photographers in Nigeria happy, while he commended photographers in Nigeria who are always enthusiastic to learn, He said plans are underway to extend the empowerment programme to Abuja, Port-Harcourt and other big cities in Nigeria.
