The Ondo State Eminent Persons Group (OSEGP) has urged Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to establish an advisory council on economic growth and development to serve as the engine room to speedy the transformation of the state and the people.

A statement by its National President, Banji Alabi, said the council became imperative in the light of the current comatose state of the economy where virtually all industries are moribund, and the greater need to diversify sources of revenue.

Alabi lauded the list of commissioners the governor sent recently to the House of Assembly for approval, noting that when the lawmakers finally approve the list, the governor would have put in place what he called “legacy-cabinet.”

“It is delightful and historic, the vision and wisdom of Akeredolu in tapping into two proven successive past progressive administrations of the late Chief Adebayo Adefarati and the late Dr. Olusegun Agagu in designing a roadmap and a structure for rapid development of the state.”
