The Oyo State chapter of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) has expressed satisfaction with the emergence of Tom Etim as the National President of the union.

The Oyo State chapter of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) has expressed satisfaction with the emergence of Tom Etim as the National President of the union.

It equally lauded the expulsion of the former president for participating in activities against ethics of the union.

Oyo State Chairman of ASCSN, Babatunde Balogun, in a statement after the union’s National Delegates Conference (NEC) in Lagos, said the expulsion was in line with the constitution of the union.

While pointing out that the former president had some issues to clear, Balogun, however, said the emergence of Etim was to save the image of the union.

According to the chairman of the chapter, the NEC is the highest decision-making body of the union and its decisions are always guided by the constitution.

Balogun said: “The decision to expel the former president from ASCSN is due to his anti-labour activities that are capable of soiling the image of the union, adding that the decision was also legally backed by Rule 13(VI and VII) respectively. The decision of the CWC shall be binding on all members, including the employees of the association until reversed by the NEC.”
