Polance Media launches online newspaper, Naija News

Almost two years after Whisper Naija was laid to rest, Polance Media Limited is returning to newspapering with a renewed strategy.

The independent, pro-investigation multi-media online news platform focused primarily on politics, policy and economy.

The online paper was unveiled at a colourful ceremony to be headlined by some of Nigeria’s business and political leaders.

The company chief executive officer, Olawale Adeniyi explained that the platform would deliver a knowledge-driven journalism in the pursuit of Nigeria’s progress while aiming to become Nigeria’s number one online newspaper source for verifiable and undiluted news.

The paper, he said, will target political and business leaders while also appealing to millions of the country’s youths. He expects that within a year, the paper would be able to stamp its influence on the market and become a dominant player in the field.

Adeniyi later stated that the news platform would be tailored to meet the needs of an increasingly diversified readership base both in Nigeria and outside the shores of the country.

As part of its special offerings the newspaper plans to launch a project which is expected to focus on Climate Change with its category tagged ECOWATCH.

‘With great powers, comes great responsibility’. We would be shying away from our responsibility if we refuse to highlight the effect of climate change on our environment. This segment focuses on the environment and the effect our everyday lives have on it, Adeniyi said.
