Richardson Oil & Gas advocates investment in workforce

Richardson Oil and Gas Limited has urged organisations to enhance safety performance by exploring social investments initiatives, which is about investing in their human resources.

This, according to the oil and gas servicing company, would enable growth and innovation to further optimise delivery of operational goals to create more value for all stakeholders.

It would also achieve competitiveness, increase productivity and improve workers’ performance, as well as reduce supervision.


Its Chief Executive Officer, Akin Osuntoki, who stated this at this year’s PSRG Richardson Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) forum in Lagos, restated the firm’s commitment to ensuring safety in the work place through provision of integrated HSSE consulting services.

“Developing innovative social investment initiatives as an approach to improving HSSE performance ought to be a vital part of every organisation’s sustainability strategy, which ensures a safe and secure working environment for all employees while minimising the environmental impact of their operations,” he said.

He noted that part of efforts of its to ensure adherence to safety at work, was the annual PSRG-Richardson HSSE forum, which started in 2009 and has been adding value to participants.

This year’s forum titled: Enhancing HSSE Performance: Exploring Social Investment Initiatives, was attended by industry experts from diverse fields including the Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Ltd (SNEPCo) and chairman of the event, Mr. Bayo Ojulari, who, is his opening remarks, stressed the importance of a healthy HSSE practice in the workforce.

Also in attendance was the General Manager, Deep Water District, Total E&P Nigeria Limited, Chinyere Uche, who lauded the forum for providing the platform to learning and relearning.
