The training is on the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems Standards.
It is to enhance the knowledge of the participants to aid their positive contributions to standardisation works in the field of governance of organisations.
Director-General, SON, Osita Aboloma, speaking at the opening of the programme in Abuja, said the training is critical and necessary, as the QMS standard is the foundation from which all management systems standards evolve.

He told the participants that building their capacity in the subject area would be very helpful in assisting them to contribute meaningfully to the current and future standardisation works, nationally and internationally.
Aboloma, represented by the Director, Corporate Affairs and SON Consult, Felix Nyado, said the training would be in three batches; two in Abuja and one in Lagos would provide easy access to the participants from various locations.
He admonished the members to maintain Nigeria’s active membership of the various ISO technical committees through regular comments and participation in the mandatory balloting as required.
