A colloquium tagged, Aziza, the Academic Matriarch @ 60 will hold tomorrow at Delta State University, Abraka. The event, which is conceived to celebrate Prof. Rose Aziza, who turned 60 in March, will feature a keynote lecture to be delivered by the Director, Centre for Gender and Development Studies, University of Benin, Prof. Evelyn Edosomwan. The event will also be chaired by the immediate past Deputy Governor of Delta State, Prof. Amos Agbe Utuama. The colloquium is scheduled told at 750 LT at the university’s permanent site. Time is 10am.

Born 60 years ago, Professor Aziza took degrees (BA, MA and PhD) from the Universities of Ife and Ibadan in English and Linguistics, before settling down to life as an academic. A highly regarded linguist, Aziza became the first female Dean of Faculty at Delta State University, Abraka, where she is currently the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration). She is happily married to Mr. Moses Aziza and they are blessed with children.
