Branch’s Jungle Justice hits the stage at TBS banquet hall
Written by Femi Branch, Jungle Justice is a courtroom comedy centred on the trial of Ijimere Ika, who is standing trial for the murder of his friend, Kasali. The proceedings, however, are everything but normal, as the combination of the trial judge, who is lord and master of all within the courtroom, a policeman doubling as court clerk, a prosecuting counsel, who has never successfully prosecuted a single case, a defence counsel fresh out of law school, two witnesses with a vendetta and a wily accused, ensure the making of an unforgettable day in court for everyone.
Branch artfully and hilariously captures the contemporary Nigerian society in one courtroom. There is nothing normal about this court. Jungle Justice is directed by Bimbo Olorunmola and performed by B/Rated Productions under the Theatre@TBS initiative. Date is Sunday, November 19 and 26, 2017 and Sunday, December 3 and 10, 2017. Time is 6pm daily.
