A Lagos-based lawyer and social analyst, Mr. Chris Akiri, will launch his two books, Reminiscences: Autobiographical Notes and The Way It Is, Volume 2, on Thursday, August 17, 2017. The event is billed for 10:00 a.m. at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, Lagos.

In Reminiscences: Autobiographical Notes, Akiri provides his readers a riveting kaleidoscope of experiences that moulded his life. He recounts the many odds he surmounted while growing up to attain an illustrious life and how these experiences have mediated his philosophy of life that is actuated by the desire for justice and improvement of humanity.

This quest to have a better world has resulted in his short-lived foray into partisan politics and interventions in communal, national and global affairs, using the mass media and his towering legal knowledge. The second book is a compendium of some of these interventions which have been expressed through articles published in disparate newspapers.

The chairman of the occasion is a member of the House of Representatives, Emmanuel Oghene Egoh, while the chief launcher is a businessman, Dan. Esiekpe. The books will be reviewed by Dr. Paul Onomuakpokpo of The Guardian.
