The National Gallery of Art (NGA) has called for tributes to honour its first Director General, Dr. Paul Chike Dike, who passed on recently.
The book of tributes invites colleagues, friends, proteges, institutions, and admirers to submit tributes, reflections, and personal recollections in honour of the patriot and cultural icon.
The late administrator, distinguished art historian, author, and ethnographer departed this life on February, 19,ll 2026 at the age of 82.
According to a statement by NGA’s Director, Information Services Department, Emeka Odiari, submissions may highlight among others personal encounters and memories, his impact on scholarship, administration, and cultural policy, his mentorship and influence on the arts community, reflections on his published works and ethnographic contributions.

“This commemorative volume will serve not only as a testament to Dr. Dike’s enduring legacy, but also as a collective expression of gratitude for a life devoted to art, scholarship, and national service.
