Nigeria’s Zuma International Film Festival begins on Tuesday

Curtain will open on 2020 Zuma International Film Festival (ZUFF), Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

The opening ceremony tagged, ‘Zuma Light Up Night’ will hold at NAF Conference Centre Poolside, Kado, Abuja at 5:00 pm beginning with the traditional red carpet session. The other events of the week-long festival are film screening, which will run through the festival, the yearly NFC Film lecture, holding on December 3 and closing ceremony and award night at the NAF Conference Centre at 5:00 pm.

Expected as chief host and special guest of honour is the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed. This edition is to be held under the theme, Content Connectivity: Every View, Everywhere. Also, this edition will have a combination of physical and virtual participation with the physical participation complying with COVID-19 Safety Protocols.
 
Managing Director of the NFC and Chairman, Organising Committee of ZUFF 2020, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, has assured that no effort will be spared to ensure that ZUFF 2020 sustains the narratives that Nigeria is indeed the hub of film production activities in Africa despite the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Maduekwe explained that ZUFF 2020, the 11th in the series will provide a platform for the recognition of Nigerian filmmakers adding the needed value to the development of the art and business of filmmaking.  Details of the festival and award categories can be sourced at www.zumafilmfest.gov.ng
